Creativity Shuts Down Anxiety

Week 8 of 2025 - Issue 108

Feeling Anxious and Powerless?

Taking even 15 minutes to do something creative can get you out of that anxious state. When you get anxious - ask yourself “what could I make?”

Creativity and Curiosity engage the right hemisphere of the brain, which helps to shift your attention away from the anxious left hemisphere.

We are all born with the ability to be creative - but sometimes it gets lost along the way. Creativity can be all kinds of activities.

It’s Different for everyone and there are no right or wrong ways to do it -

Focus on the process - not the product.

Cook/Bake, take pictures, dance, arrange flowers, make music, craft, paint, sculpt, color, write, make jewelry, sew, knit, try a DIY project

Still Getting Lots of Political Texts?

Paul English - the founder of Kayak - has a solution - He has developed a new free app SPAMSTRIKE that really works - The text messages go into a Junk Folder on your phone - if you want to review them before you delete them. You can also respond STOP, delete and report as Junk - but we didn’t’ find that as effective
