Dog Days of Summer

Week 28 of 2025

The Dog Days of Summer are here. Stretching from July 3 to August 11th - traditionally associated with the hottest and most humid days of the year. - The Romans believed that the star Sirius - also known as the Dog Star - rising with the sun brought increased heat and humidity to the summer months. In reality - during the summer the tilt of the earth causes the Sun’s Rays to hit at a more direct angle and for a longer period of time throughout the day - resulting in longer, hotter days.
