Leaving Memories
When I leave a place, I sow forget me not seeds. Who knows if they flourish or not, but I like to think that they brighten someone’s corner of the world after I am gone.
It’s a native perennial that likes shade, like me:)
My family has always planted memorial Yews. More than once, we have had to remove them once they got too big, which is like picking the scab off a wound. So I switched to forget me nots. This year I sent seeds to my sister’s children to plant in their own gardens on their first Motherless Mother’s Day and maybe it will become a family tradition of sorts
It’s my version of Miss Rumphius- the Lupine Lady- but without soaking seeds:). Hopefully, doing something to make the world more beautiful.
