New Year, New Note Cards

I am part of a dying breed that still hand writes thank you notes and condolence notes. I was raised with personalized stationary with my name engraved/embossed – which I still use for RSVPs and writing to faculty and other educators to thank them for their efforts – but lately I have shifted to creating my own “watercolor” notecards.

Magically – I can do this all from my phone thanks to two apps Waterlogue and Shutterfly. Here’s how:

Open the Waterlogue app and select a picture from your camera roll. Once Waterlogue has converted it to a painting of your liking – save it. Open your Shutterfly App to create a photo note card and upload your Waterlogue painting from your camera roll – Ta da – I use the 5X 7 upload your own notecard with rounded corners – You can put your own tag line on the back of the cards also and order as many or as few as you need. Don’t expect speedy shipping – but they arrive sooner than I would have imagined. You can also turn these works of “art” into Jigsaw Puzzles.

You can skip Waterlogue and just make note cards with photos -full disclosure – I copied this idea from a friend who had made cards with a photograph that her mother had taken in Giverny and she used them to answer condolence notes.

Here are a few that I have made – Have fun

Thanks NWS for letting me borrow your great idea:)
