Pay it Forward ~ Empathy Matters

Putting together outreach bags for individuals staying outside- is an easy at home project- no matter where you live.

We use Hefty 1.5 gallon ziplock bags. You could also use a large Nalgene water bottles or backpacks

Here is what we include:

Gift card $5 CVS or DD

Cloth face mask covering

Socks

Soap

Tooth brush/paste and small water bottle

Band aids

Lotion

Hand Wipes

Pocket size Kleenex

Deodorant

Nail Clippers

Mints. We use individually wrapped life savers

In the winter add:

Gloves

Hats

Hand Warmers

We make 10 – 12 at a time, depending on supplies, most of these items Are available in bulk from Amazon or Walmart or dollar stores.

We buy water bottles from our local grocer. You can also include a snack bar, peanut butter crackers or any non-perishable individually wrapped food item.

You can also save up travel size toiletries from hotels and use those or shop at hotel and travel supply sites like this:

Where we live , there are local volunteers who pick up the bags to put in the hands of organizations that distribute them. – check with your local churches ,community groups and shelters.
