Snail Mail Surprise

Week 9 of 2025 - Issue 109

Guess what reduces stress? - Letter writing

We were taught as children about the benefits of writing a letter. At Summer Camp - a letter to home was our meal ticket to supper on Sunday. Additionally, we were urged to send notes of sympathy and encouragement as well as thank you notes and greeting cards .

Writing by hand engages memory and encourages concentration while clarifying your thoughts and increasing your visual motor skills. It taps into your creativity - You can add pictures or stickers or multicolored inks.

Maybe you think it’s old fashioned - why not send an e-mail or a text? - Handwritten notes are like the dinosaurs of communication, but if you try it, you may find it to be nostalgic, like old recipes or photos.

~You feel better after you finish a note~

For more fun - Try writing a letter that you don’t send - A thank you note to your second-grade teacher for teaching you to read or Julie Andrews for making The Sound of Music, Cadbury for making Chocolate -

Write whatever you feel like - say whatever you want -

Here are more letter suggestions and how - to ideas for you to try
