Spot the Station

It’s easier than you might think

You can sign up to receive a text message when the space station will be visible in your sky. No telescope required. It’s quite bright and easy to spot with the naked eye.

You can also follow the crew on Twitter or NASA TV to learn more about what experiments they are doing and who is aboard. The crew broadcasts to many school groups during flight.

The technology is just amazing. You can even watch restored footage of the first Apollo moonwalk- “ One Giant Leap for Mankind”- which many of us watched on borrowed black & white TVs in the summer of 1969 as children.

“One small step for man. One giant leap for mankind”

NASA has a social media presence on Pinterest and Facebook as well. Just search for NASA on either platform. When you need a break from the news… these are great rabbit holes to explore.

P.S. I just got a text notification from Spot the station as I was typing this!
