Stroke awareness month

Four years ago today- the force was not with me when I had a stroke- or maybe it was…since I was lucky to get early treatment and survive. I had no idea I was having a stroke, but my husband did and he got me to a stroke center immediately.

May is a stroke awareness month. Know the signs Be a survivor.

BE FAST – how to recognize signs of a stroke

BALANCE- trouble walking

EYES- trouble seeing

FACE does one side droop when smiling?

ARMS- can both arms be raised?

SPEECH – slurring words

TIME – call 911

Time = brain. The faster treatment is received, the better chances for recovery
