Summer Phone Apps

The northeast had a nice weather pattern last week, that got everyone out of hibernation. There is so much to see…birds, plants, flowers, bugs, stars and more. I have a whole set of apps that I group together as summer apps – here are few with their links.

Picture This. The Botanist in your pocket! Take a photo of a tree, bush, flower, fern or weed and learn all about it. One of my favorites.

OFFCAST– This is new to me – put in your zip code and get your mosquito forecast – from the makers of OFF

Night Sky Rusty on you constellations? – point your phone to the night sky for help

Spot the Station. NASA space station – put in your zip code to receive text notifications of when the station is visible in your area

Shark tracker Still afraid to go back in the water? See where the sharks are

Tide tables. Knowing when the tide is high for water activities as well as moon phases for gardeners, but that’s a whole other post-
