Swedish Dishcloths

Another one of those back to the future items – Invented in Sweden in 1949 – these eco- friendly household helpers are having a renaissance. I first noticed them in Canada -where they call them sponge cloths . Once hard to find, they are now everywhere from Amazon to The Grommet and Stonewall Kitchen . I have seen them at Bed & Bath and Walmart too. They come in lots of patterns and colors.

It’s not really a dishcloth at all – but a cross between a sponge and a reusable paper towel. It soaks up spills, dusts, wipes down surfaces and more. They dry fast and are Machine washable for months of use. You don’t need to put it in the dryer. Made from cellulose and cotton – you can throw it in the compost pile once you wear it out – Does it get any better than that?

They are great for hostess gifts, stocking stuffers, secret santa and easy to mail too. Keep one in your car for foggy windshields and mirrors.

Here are few links to find your own.
